What Is Enriched Air Nitrox?
Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) is simply breathing gas with a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage of nitrogen than regular air.
The most common recreational Nitrox blends contain 32% or 36% oxygen, compared to the roughly 21% oxygen found in normal air.
Because there is less nitrogen in each breath, your body absorbs nitrogen more slowly. For many dives, that means longer no-decompression limits, shorter surface intervals, and more flexibility when planning repetitive dives.
Contrary to popular belief, Nitrox is not designed to let you dive deeper. In fact, Nitrox generally has shallower maximum operating depths than air. The benefit comes from reducing nitrogen exposure, not increasing depth.
Who Should Take This Course?
If you are starting to do multiple dives a day, diving deeper than 60 feet, or finding yourself ending dives because of no-decompression limits instead of air supply, this course is for you.
Nitrox is not about diving deeper.
It is about diving smarter.

Most students choose to complete the knowledge development portion through PADI eLearning. It’s efficient, flexible, and lets you move at your own pace.
If you prefer an in-person classroom session, that is absolutely an option too.
Either way, the hands-on portion, including tank analysis, dive planning, and real-world application, is completed directly with me.
Bottom line: choose the format that fits your learning style. You still get proper instruction either way.
