Learn To Dive

Full Face Mask Diver

Who should take this course?

Have you ever seen divers rocking a Full Face Mask (FFM) and wondered what it would be like to dive with one?  Full Face Masks have a couple of differences that you may want to explore:  Increased field of vision, the ability to breathe from your nose, more comfort and protection during some of our colder months of diving, or perhaps even a communication system for you and your very best dive buddy.

If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the Full Face Mask course.

What will you learn?

The PADI Full Face Mask course will teach you what you need to know about how to safely and comfortably dive using a Full Face Mask.  You’ll gain experience scuba diving with a FFM by completing one confined water dive and two open water dives and learn:

  • Features and benefits of Full Face Masks
  • Correct FFM fit, adjustment, and regulator installation (if applicable)
  • FFM care and maintenance
  • FFM diving skills
  • Accepted safety practices
  • Problem solving skills and techniques
  • Just how much fun diving with a FFM can be!

The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

How can you start learning now?

Stop by your local PADI Dive Center to enroll in the course and contact DiveWithFrank to schedule a convenient class time.  Pretty soon you’ll be ready to get into the water with DWF to start practicing with your FFM.

What scuba gear will you use?

Clearly a Full Face Mask is necessary along with your basic scuba equipment. Your PADI Instructor or local dive center staff will explain other gear or equipment options you may need to dive comfortably with FFM.

How Long Will It Take?

We spend one session in the classroom and then confined water, and an additional 2 Open Water Full Face Mask dives over one day.
