My “real” job thinks scuba is pretty cool too!

I’m lucky. I’ve spent my life balancing two worlds that don’t usually overlap:
a demanding technical career and an equally demanding life underwater.

Years ago, back when I worked at MITRE, they connected me with a writer to put together
a short profile about my diving life and why it matters to me.

Diving didn’t replace my career. It clarified it.

The piece is a long-form profile focused on how diving, teaching, and exploration became
central parts of my life.

The original page no longer lives on MITRE’s site, but the full story is still available
and is now hosted by The Scuba News.

The Undersea World of Frank Lewis

It covers how I got into diving, what keeps pulling me back underwater, and why I enjoy
bringing other people into that world.
