In 2024, I spent ten days in Fiji on a dedicated familiarization trip to Volivoli. I was not there as a tourist and not there to simply tag along. I went as a scout. When I put my name on a destination trip, it is because I have personally vetted it and I am confident it is worth your time, your money, and the effort it takes to get there.
Before I went, I had heard the same thing everyone hears about Fiji. The soft coral capital of the world. It is a big claim. I went to see whether it held up in real conditions with real diving.
It was not hype. Volivoli delivers explosive color, dense reef life, dramatic swim-throughs, and wide-angle scenes that genuinely make you pause underwater. Weeks after returning home, I was still replaying specific dives and specific moments in my head.
That is why I am taking a group back.
