You get a DiveWithFrank weekend at Lake Phoenix Scuba Center that’s equal parts training, transformation, and flat-out fun.
We spent the weekend soaking up 78°F water all the way down to 35 feet—seriously, it felt like the lake rolled out a warm welcome mat just for us. The visibility was great, the energy was high, and the crew? Absolutely stellar.
🎉 Big shoutout to our four newly certified divers, who not only completed their Open Water checkout dives, but also—shout it from the treetops—two of them earned their Scuba Merit Badges with the Boy Scouts of America. DiveWithFrank is proud to serve as a Merit Badge Counselor, and this was a special one.

Lake Phoenix is a playground for divers of all levels. We toured the underwater attractions like true aquatic explorers:
🛩️ Found the hidden geocache on the sunken helicopter
🎳 Shot hoops with bowling balls at the underwater basketball court
🚌 Swam around the sunken school bus
🏕️ Explored the underwater campground trail
From confident mask clears to controlled descents and buoyant hover games, these students handled every challenge like naturals. By day’s end, they weren’t just passing—they were thriving.

One of the most memorable traditions at Lake Phoenix is the diver bell—and let me tell you, it rang four times this weekend with well-earned pride. Each ring was followed by big grins, high-fives, and that classic look of “I did it.”
🌌 Campfires & Connections
After the tanks were off and the suits hung to dry, we kicked back at our campsite under a blanket of stars. No screens. No distractions. Just stories, s’mores, and plans for future dives.
