See reefs differently. Dive better. Travel smarter.
Everyone loves diving or snorkeling over a colorful coral reef. Fewer people truly understand what they’re looking at, how reefs function, or how easily they can be damaged.
The PADI AWARE – Coral Reef Conservation course is designed to change that.
This is a discussion-based, non-diving course that helps you understand coral reef ecosystems in a practical, approachable way and shows you how to be a better diver, snorkeler, and ocean traveler without turning the experience into a lecture or a guilt trip.
Who should take this course?
This course is open to everyone.
You do not need to be a certified diver. There are no prerequisites, no age restrictions, and no water sessions required.
This course is a great fit if you:
- Dive or snorkel and want to better understand what you’re seeing
- Care about ocean conservation but want practical, realistic guidance
- Want to reduce your impact on reefs while still enjoying the ocean
- Prefer a relaxed, discussion-based learning environment
- Are curious about coral reefs and want context, not just facts
Divers, non-divers, students, travelers, and ocean lovers are all welcome.
What will you learn?
Through guided discussion and real-world examples, you’ll learn:
- How coral reefs function and why they are so biologically complex
- Why coral reefs are critical to ocean health and coastal communities
- The major threats facing coral reefs today (and what’s actually causing them)
- Simple, effective actions you can take to reduce your impact
- How divers and water enthusiasts can be part of the solution
- How Project AWARE connects individuals to meaningful conservation efforts
The goal isn’t to overwhelm you. The goal is to help you leave with clarity, context, and confidence.

This course can be completed either in person or online.
- In-person sessions are taught privately or in small groups at a location arranged by Dive With Frank
