Advanced Underwater Sign Language Course

I just got back another session of my Advanced Underwater Sign Language course (as a student, not an instructor) this evening. Chuck Thompson, a fellow PADI MSDT at Columbia Scuba wrote this PADI Distinctive Specialty.

The class includes some history on American Sign Language (ASL), sign language basics, as well as 123 distinctive signs based on ASL, plus the ASL letters and numbers.

The full class includes a couple of evenings in the classroom, and a session in confined water to practice “speaking”. This evening we reviewed the new signs we’ve recently learned and practiced speaking in complete sentences.

I love that Chuck created this class am I’m enjoying being able to expand my underwater communication repertoire.

If you’d like to be able to “say” a whole lot more while you’re underwater, I highly recommend contacting Chuck directly about the PADI Advanced Underwater Sign Language specialty course.
