This weekend DWF got to usher three new scuba divers into the tribe. We had a great weekend at Juturna Springs. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I’m really starting to like this place 🙂
This is an exiting time for scuba diving here in MD. We’ve got a brand new quarry! I’ve only been in the area for 7 years, but I’ve spoken with divers who have lived here all their lives and this is the first time a new quarry has opened up in a long, long time!
This weekend we had three Open Water students doing their checkout dives, Divemaster Stu assisting, and we had Divemaster-In-Training (DMiT) doing her Open Water class internship.
The visibility at Juturna was 10-15 feet and the temperatures were about 78 degrees F at the surface, but there’s a wicked thermocline right around 20 feet that drops the temperature down to the low 60s.
This was just a great weekend. So let me be the first to say Congratulations to Columbia Scuba‘s newest PADI Open Water Scuba Divers! Your adventure is just beginning!
