Let’s Do Some Diving!
As you may have read recently, DWF has been working with photo pros at a couple of different resorts over the last year and it has really helped to develop
some new techniques and push my underwater photography skills to the next level. And I gotta tell you, some of the photos I’ve taken over the last year are images that I simply wouldn’t have imagined could have come from me before.
So guess what? DWF has set up a week-long photo workshop at CoCo View (CCV) Resort in Roatan, Honduras October 4-11th, 2025! This will be a week of scuba diving, photo seminars, learning new techniques, and real-time practice of those techniques to build some muscle memory!
This photo workshop is hosted by Mickey Charteris (resident photo pro at CCV and author of Caribbean Reef Life)
To be clear, this isn’t JUST a trip for photographers. The diving down at CCV is amazing and we are all going to see some stunning sights, but you definitely don’t need to be a “hard core photographer” to enjoy this trip. For those of you who are photographers, you will have the opportunity to work on whatever aspects of photography you wish to improve. From composition to lighting, from working the exposure triangle, to improving your buoyancy to get where you want to be to take that shot you’ve been hoping for.
But if you want to just come down and do some great diving…well that’s definitely the plan! Don’t let the phrase “photo workshop” preclude you from just wonderful and relaxing diving.
I’ve taken multiple trips down to Coco View and there’s a reason I keep coming back! In addition to the amazing dive sites we will be visiting each day, the CCV house reef (which includes a wreck, a plane, as well as a couple of walls with a wide variety of aquatic life) allows us to do as much shore diving as you wish. This provides us with an opportunity to practice and experiment with the new skills we will be picking up during our photo workshop. You can do as many dives as you want (including night dives) on the house reef.
