DWF 4th of July Weekend at Lake Phoenix

Alright y’all, I’ve got a fun one for you.

Over 4th of July weekend 2026, I’m heading down to Lake Phoenix to camp, dive, relax, and enjoy a long summer weekend with good people. I did this last year and had an absolute blast. Great dives, great atmosphere, and a really fun holiday vibe all weekend long.

So I’m doing it again.

But let me be super clear right up front:

This is not a class.
This is not a guided trip.
This is not a packaged event.

I’m not heading down there as an instructor running a program. I’m going as a diver, a camper, and a dive buddy who plans to get very, very wet that weekend.

What This Weekend Is

This is a laid-back, come-if-you-want, dive-your-face-off, hang-out-under-the-pavilion kind of weekend.

Want to dive a lot? Awesome.
Want to camp and dive a little? Also awesome.
Want to bring the family and just enjoy the vibe? Cool by me.

We already expect this to be a nice weekend for families too, especially since there are already a few families with young divers interested in being there.

The whole point is simple:

Wake up.
Drink coffee.
Dive.
Eat something.
Dive again.
Maybe do a night dive.
Hang out and enjoy the 4th.

That’s it. No pressure. No classroom. No schedule breathing down your neck.

About the Fireworks

One of the really cool things about this weekend is that we can dive all day, do a night dive if we want, and then enjoy fireworks nearby afterward. That’s just a ridiculously good combo.

No, the fireworks are not actually launched on the lake, but we’ll still get to enjoy them as part of the weekend fun, and honestly that still feels pretty darn magical after a day underwater.

No Spots. No Pressure. No Weirdness.

This is not one of those “only 8 spots left” kind of things.

There are no spots because I’m not running this like a formal trip. I’m simply letting people know where I’ll be, because sometimes the best dive weekends happen when a bunch of good people end up in the same place for the same reason.

If you want to come, come.

If you want to let me know you’re coming, even better. I’ll keep a loose group roster so I know who’s planning to be around, but nothing about that is required. It just helps me know who to expect under the pavilion, around the campsite, or underwater blowing bubbles with the rest of us.

How Payment Works

You’ll be paying Lake Phoenix directly for whatever you do that weekend. Diving, camping, rentals, air, Nitrox, visitor admission, all of that goes through them.

I’m not collecting money for this weekend, and I’m not teaching. I’m just there to dive, camp, relax, and enjoy the holiday with whoever wants to join in.

What Lake Phoenix Costs

Lake Phoenix pricing can always change, but here’s the simple version of what most people will probably care about for a weekend like this:

• Daily scuba admission: about $34.75 per day
• Daily scuba admission with tank and unlimited air: about $57.25 per day
• Daily scuba admission with tank and Nitrox: about $84.00 per day
• Tent camping: about $17.75 per person, per night
• Visitor / swimmer / snorkeler admission with a dive group: about $8.50 per day

They also have a really solid bundle that a lot of people may want to look at:

• Camper Special (Air): about $129.75 for two consecutive days of diving admission, two nights of tent camping, and unlimited air

That’s probably the easiest all-in option for a lot of folks.

If you need gear, they do rentals too. Personally, I’ll probably rent tanks while I’m there, because once I factor in hauling mine down and dealing with fills, it’s close enough that renting just makes life easier.

But hey, you do you.

DWF Home Base

I’ll spring for a pavilion for the group, so we’ll have a good central hangout spot for gearing up, cooling off, swapping stories, hydrating like responsible aquatic goblins, and generally acting like the kind of people who think a long weekend is best spent underwater.

That alone makes the whole thing nicer. A home base matters.
