When I woke up yesterday morning and saw it was snowing my first thought was “you gotta be kidding me!”
I have learned something this season. When I have the chance to teach a dry suit class on a weekend and the temperature is above 30 degrees…I’d better take it! About a month ago we punted this class just because and since then we haven’t had a weekend above 30 degrees! Never again.
Despite the weather continually spanking me over the last month, we had a great class yesterday at Hyde’s Quarry! The temperature started the day in the mid 30s, but the water temperature was a balmy 41 degrees F.
Class was great. We practiced our dry suit skills, and headed down to the school bus that sits at about 46 feet. Our second dive took us on a tour of the quarry where I also got a chance to show off the rescue boat and sail boat.
A fun day…and not too chilly with our dry suit and winter weight undergarments.
Congratulations to Columbia Scuba‘s newest PADI Dry Suit diver!
