This weekend was a big one up at Dutch Springs (Bethlehem, PA) with the Dutch Springs Dive Expo happening. I figured it was going to be pretty busy up there and I was right. Instructors were let in at about 7:30am and there was nary a gear table left for setting up class. I have never seen it so busy.

This weekend DWF got to teach two different classes. I was able to finish a second day of Open Water checkout dives for a couple of my folks, complete dry suit certification dives for a few more, and also had a few friends out for just some plain old fun diving!
It was especially nice to finish out Dry Suit this weekend as we’ve been trying to coordinate our schedules for several months. If you’re asking yourself “Why would I want to get dry suit certified?”, take a look at my last dry suit class post for a pretty good explanation of why.
Unfortunately, my Open Water students were so excited about finishing up that they headed up the Expo right after class…so no photos of our class. I was so busy with class that I never even made it up there, so I have nothing to report about the Expo…except for the really cute little stuffed whale shark that one of my students brought back down.
But here we’ve got the whole gang of dry suit and fun divers for the day! The weather was gorgeous and with dry suits on, the water was “brisk” and totally enjoyable!
So let me be the first to congratulate Columbia Scuba‘s newest Open Water AND Dry Suit divers! Perhaps I’ll have enough free time next year to actually make it up to the Expo 🙂
