Hyde’s Quarry has opened back up for the 2017 scuba season, and DWF was out there this weekend to welcome 5 new PADI Open Water Scuba Divers into the world!
This was a pretty busy weekend as DWF was also teaching part (2 dives) of a PADI Wreck Diver class on a rainy Saturday morning.
Temps were about 60 degrees F at the surface, 55 degrees F at 15 feet, 50 degrees F at 25 feet, and a whole lot closer to 40 degrees at 42 feet (no my OW students didn’t get to enjoy that). Hyde’s had (relatively) good visibility of up to 20 feet before we got down there and silted the place up.
I always try and dive wet when working with Open Water students. My logic is that I can’t know how cold everybody is if I’m in my comfy-cozy dry suit.
My students were great! Let me be the first to congratulate Columbia Scuba‘s 5 newest PADI Open Water Scuba Divers!
I look forward to hearing of your diving adventures!
